There are many cheap direct flights to the airport at Faro, flying from many of the regional airports in the UK. During the main holiday season many carriers offer daily flights but these fall in number during the low season.

Hire Car

There is usually parking available in the area around the apartment if you wish to hire a car. All the major hire car companies offer a service from Faro airport – please see the Links page for a suggestion.

Bus

Olhão is easily reached from Faro airport by public transport; the simplest method is by bus.  The no. 16 bus runs from outside the arrivals door at the airport to Faro bus station (make sure you don’t get on the bus to Faro beach by mistake – it should say “Avenida” on the front) and costs only €1.55 per person (pay on the bus).  Then take a second bus from Faro bus station to Olhão bus station (either pay on the bus or buy a ticket at the counter) at a cost of only €1.75.  You can then either walk to the apartment if your suitcase has wheels or take a taxi from the Avenida da República.  Please see the Links page for the bus timetables.

Taxi

You can take a taxi from the airport at a cost of around €20 for a 4-person taxi.
